Metropolitan Fire Association
Metropolitan Fire Association, Inc. is a community based disaster relief organization that proudly serves the Staten Island community during emergencies since 1976. Our members assist the community by providing Medical Aid and Rescue Services in times of need.
Metropolitan Fire Association, Inc. sponsors Explorer Post 185 through the Boy Scouts of America Learning for Life program, it teaches young adults about emergency service professions. The Explorer Program accepts male and female members between the ages of 12 and 18. Some of the areas the Explorers train in are the fundamentals of firefighting, incident command systems, CPR & First-Aid, and emergency preparedness. The Explorers participate in competitions, parades, and special events in addition to preparing for civil service exams. All events and training are supervised by adults who work in various emergency service fields.
